Toddler Spanish Assistant Teacher
Ms. Melissa Vazquez earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Arts and Sciences from San Diego State University in 2017. After completing her Degree, she continued her preparation in the field of Child Development while working in elementary school computer science programs as a coding teacher at ThoughtStem LLC. In early 2020, Ms. Melissa pursued an infant/toddler teacher position at KinderCare Learning Centers where she developed her instructive practices.
Ms. Melissa originally joined La Jolla Montessori School in 2021 as a Spanish Assistant Teacher. In the summer of 2022, she was tempted away to work at a non-Montessori school. However, she returned to our Montessori school in the winter of 2023 sharing that leaving our Montessori school helped her to realize her passion for Dr. Montessori's deep respect for the young child and her design of an environment that engages the young child in meaningful work.
Ms. Melissa has always believed in the importance of helping children prepare for life. She enjoys discovering with children about new things in our world and other interests. She continues to be amazed by the method and is focused on giving her best to all children. She plans to continue her studies to learn how to best support children with special needs in the future. She has experience guiding children in both the toddler and primary environments.
In her free time, Ms. Melissa loves to paint on canvas, go for walks on the beach and explore new places.
