Primary Spanish Teacher
Ms. Meaghan Yolles was a Montessori child herself, having attended Santa Barbara Montessori from the primary through elementary years. She developed a love for working with children from a young age, and after working in traditional education for six years, realized her passion for Montessori. After graduating from Skidmore College in upstate New York with a Bachelor's degree in Education Studies, she spent the following years working in elementary classrooms both in Spain and California as well as working as a fine motor specialist at an occupational therapy clinic. Having learned Spanish as a toddler, she deepened her love of the Spanish language while spending three years as a teacher in Madrid, Spain. During her last year in Spain, she worked as an Assistant Teacher in a Primary classroom at Madrid Montessori, an AMI international school.
Meaghan’s time at Madrid Montessori inspired her to return to school and earn an AMI Primary Diploma at the Montessori Institute of San Diego followed by a Master of Arts in Education from Loyola University in Maryland. Meaghan loves working in the Sea Turtle Primary Classroom here at La Jolla Montessori, and shares with the children the love for learning that was instilled in her from her own Montessori education. Outside of school, Meaghan has also spent many years teaching ballet and theater to children.
In her free time, Ms. Meaghan enjoys spending time with family & friends, being outdoors, reading, and most of all, traveling.
