Ms. Mara Smith earned an Associate's Degree in Child Development, a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Crafton Hills College in 2006 and a CA public school Teaching Credential from the University of Redlands in 2008. Mara’s passion for early childhood started when she took her first course in child development and decided that was where she wanted to focus her future. She has worked in both traditional elementary classrooms and Montessori classrooms. In 2017, Ms. Mara completed her AMI Primary Certification.
Ms. Mara grew up in Ontario California and now lives in San Diego. She believes the Montessori Method is the best education for children and it’s her joy to give Montessori education to children. She is dedicated to enriching the lives of children.
In her free time, Ms. Mara and her thirteen-year-old daughter love spending time together exploring, finding new places to visit as well as visiting old favorites. Their favorite place to visit is the 'tide pools' in La Jolla. Ms. Mara loves to be out in nature, especially the beach and park and enjoys hiking or simply taking a walk outside to see all the beauty this world has to offer.
