Ms. Cherie Nogueira earned a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and is an experienced AMI Montessori Guide who has worked in Montessori environments around the world. Her love of the Montessori method began the summer right after her college graduation. She was instantly drawn to this child-centered approach that strives to support the development of the whole child. She was particularly drawn to Dr. Montessori’s philosophy about following the child’s interest and has witnessed firsthand how impactful this simple strategy can be. She also found the concrete nature of the math curriculum very appealing.
After much research and thought she decided to switch tracks and train as a Montessori teacher for children aged 3-6 years and has never regretted it! Later, she deepened her appreciation of Dr. Montessori's methods when she trained as an Assistant to Infancy (0-3 years) Guide while simultaneously working on her Master’s degree in Montessori education from Loyola University Maryland.
Ms. Cherie took a few years off to focus on her family after the birth of her second child. She recently moved to San Diego and is excited to return to the classroom and join our LJMS team! Ms. Cherie is passionate about nurturing and advocating for children.
In her free time, Ms. Cherie enjoys cooking/baking, gardening, hiking, spending time in nature and being a mom to her two boys. She also enjoys listening to the ‘Good Inside’ and ‘Hidden Brain’ podcasts.
