February 2, 2021As we enter the new year, here’s my resolution for 2021: a new and improved normality!
That means adapting to a hybrid mix of old and new protocols and activities.
2021: Changes Towards a New and Improved Normality
Prior to the emergence of COVID in March 2020, we lived far differently.
Then, almost overnight, COVID’s destruction forced a new way of doing things while altering our routines. This year, we’ll continue learning. Ultimately, we’ll adopt a mix of the past and the present to achieve a new and improved normality.
With that in mind, here are my key hopes:
- All students return for the January through June terms
- Parents and students rebuild family, school and social routines
Two successful results of these hopes will be the return to pre-virus events like:
- Re-opening after-school enrichment programs, and
- Students from different classrooms playing together.
Current Protocols Will Remain in Place
At LJMS, we will continue our safety protocols like washing hands; wearing masks; retaining socially distanced dividers; conducting daily EPA-approved fogging; and disinfecting all surfaces after use.
Ultimately, we’ll enter a post-COVID world where old and new routines are melded into a workable hybrid mix: a new and improved normality. I hope these hybrid routines will create a stronger school.
La Jolla Montessori School has not had one COVID case—ever!
Thank you so much for your family’s help in continuing to make that our reality!
Please know we’ll continue working towards solving whatever situations come our way as we seek our resolution for 2021: a new and improved normality.
